Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG)
The BFSG made accessibility mandatory in June 2025. We build it into your software, for new builds and existing systems.
What the BFSG means for your business
Since 28 June 2025, Germany's Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) has applied to digital products and services aimed at consumers – such as online shops, online banking, booking systems, or e-books. Purely B2B offerings are generally out of scope, as are micro-enterprises with fewer than ten employees and at most two million euros in annual revenue, as long as they provide services rather than products. In Germany alone, around 7.8 million people have a recognized severe disability and benefit directly from accessible offerings.
Violations can trigger fines of up to €100,000, plus competitor warnings under German unfair competition law. For companies in scope, a bolted-on accessibility overlay usually isn't enough: it doesn't fix structural problems in the code and doesn't reliably protect against complaints. What matters is accessible implementation in the design, frontend, and content structure itself.
That's exactly where we come in: for new products from day one, and for existing systems through targeted remediation. Accessibility becomes a standing part of your software development, not a separate project after launch or a plugin bolted on afterwards.
